Giovanni Tedesco believes Palermo “deserved to win on points” after a 1-1 draw away to Carpi.
The Rosanero had taken the lead through Alberto Gilardino, but Matteo Mancosu converted a penalty to equalise.
“The important thing today was not to lose, as we knew Carpi had rediscovered their identity and were on fine form,” said the caretaker manager.
“Let us not forget that Carpi are unbeaten in five rounds now. In that 10-15 minute spell during the second half we made too many mistakes and gave Carpi hope, but after the goal we settled again and created chances to finish it.
“You could say we deserved to win on points.”
