River Plate claim Fiorentina “changed the figures” during talks for Emmanuel Mammana, so they turn to Genoa’s Sebastien De Maio.

It’s reported the negotiations broke down in Argentina last night when a €8.5m offer was not considered enough for the 19-year-old.

“The talks for Mammana have definitively been abandoned,” River Plate President Rodolfo D’Onofrio told Radio Bruno.

It’s reported the negotiations broke down in Argentina last night when a €8.5m offer was not considered enough for the 19-year-old.

“The talks for Mammana have definitively been abandoned,” River Plate President Rodolfo D’Onofrio told Radio Bruno.

“We had reached an agreement, but at the moment of closing the deal Fiorentina changed the figures and so we decided to let it go.

“It was not professional behaviour. It’s a shame that such an important club as Fiorentina should behave this way. They ought to tell the truth.

“We told Fiorentina that Mammana cost €10m, the Viola offered €9m and we accepted. Then last night they said they were at most willing to give us €3m. Fiorentina really lost face in this whole situation.”

Meanwhile, Fiorentina turn to their next target for the defence, De Maio of Genoa.

The timing is handy, as the Viola play against Genoa on Sunday afternoon.
