“It’s always difficult to play three games in a week and there will be hidden dangers, as Udinese play better away from home,” said the Coach in a Press conference.

“We want to get a third consecutive victory, something that only happened once before this season, and further improve that record. Winning is wonderful, but continuing to win is difficult.

“We are happy with the enthusiasm that has been created and the win over Inter, but we also mustn’t abandon the hunger and determination to win.

“I always said our fans are passionate and demanding, it’s down to us to bring them back to the stadium. We give that 15 per cent more when we hear our fans behind us. Now we have to get them fired up.

“We have improved a great deal. We know the way Udinese play, so we’ve got to move the ball around quickly, not have sterile possession. We must break the deadlock early and then finish the game.

“We’ve dropped too many points this term and cannot afford it anymore. If we want to make that step up in quality, we have to treat every game as if it’s the derby. It was a great first half in Palermo, but after the break we controlled it a little too much for my taste.

“Our attitude must always be right regardless of the opposition. We always play to win and it all depends on us.”

There are injury problems for Mihajlovic, as Giacomo Bonaventura is in doubt, while Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez are recovering from long-term lay-offs.

“Bonaventura has another training session today and then we’ll see. I have three options to replace him and Kevin-Prince Boateng is one of them.

“Balotelli is better, but not enough to be in the starting XI. He needs a little more time. If he’s in good shape, then he can be a decisive player.

“Menez is still out of shape and is not first choice to come off the bench at the moment. Andrea Bertolacci is very important for us, but he knows full well he hasn’t been performing at the same level as last season.”

Luiz Adriano has been dropped, partly due to injury, but also because of on-going reports of a move to China.

“He is recovering, he still feels pain and ran for the first time today. I don’t think he is disturbed by transfer rumours. We are happy to have him here, but if there’s a situation that is good for both club and player, then why not take it?

“Carlos Bacca is fundamental for us, works well in the box and when he’s got a chance to score, he puts it in the net. He has to improve in his passing with teammates outside the box, but I don’t want him going to deep either.”
