Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti turns down the idea of returning as President: 'Look to the future instead'.

While keeping a role as 'Honorary President' of the club, the 70-year-old gave up executive control to Erick Thohir in late 2013.

The Nerazzurri are currently not doing too well and their 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina denied them the coveted third place.

“At the end of the match against Fiorentina the team lacked a bit of tension, but games have to be fought for until the end,” he told Rai Sport.

“I know Mancini well and right now he must be pondering all the possibilities to get his team back on their feet. What's important is that he's allowed to feel comfortable in his job.”

Moratti was then asked if he might return as the President of Inter.

“As a supporter, I may become closer to the club, no doubt. But you have to look to the future, and the future is connected to new things and to people who are working for the good of the club.

“I don't want to create situations that may be awkward for the current ownership.”
