Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero saw “strange incidents recently, but they won’t be able to stop us.”

The patron spoke to Mediaset Premium after a 3-1 defeat to Inter, which saw strong appeals for a Danilo D’Ambrosio handball in the penalty area waved away.

“I am not angry, I am calm, but unfortunately things aren’t going our way lately,” said Ferrero.

“I am not angry, I am calm, but unfortunately things aren’t going our way lately,” said Ferrero.

“They certainly won’t be able to stop us. I tell the fans to stay by our side. I don’t know anything about football, but I always thought it was a clean sport. Instead I’ve seen some strange incidents recently.

“I don’t like to talk about referees because I always defended them in the past, so I’ll just say that lately we’ve had some odd incidents.”

Ferrero embraced Inter President Erick Thohir in the stands at San Siro, after receiving a fine earlier this season for jokingly referring to the Indonesian businessman as ‘that Filipino.’

“He is so sweet, he looked like a lovely child. I never argued with him, I just got the wrong region, you media are the ones who created a storm in a teacup.

“He always invites me out to lunch, but I only go to lunch with my wife.”
