The Giallorossi went three points clear in third place with last night’s 4-1 result over Fiorentina, their seventh consecutive Serie A victory.

“I arrived after doing well at Genoa, but I didn’t expect to play straight away. My teammates gave me confidence and that made everything easier,” said the Argentine.

“My rapport with Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy developed very quickly. We get on well both on and off the field. It’s important when teammates have faith in each other.

“We have very fast players in attack and Miralem Pjanic who has vision like nobody else. With those qualities, having players like Salah or El Shaarawy alongside me, it’s all easier for me.”

The January transfers aren’t the only change, as Roma were also transformed after Luciano Spalletti replaced Rudi Garcia. What does this Coach bring?

“Determination and the right attitude.”

The Giallorossi will visit Real Madrid on Tuesday in the Champions League Round of 16, having lost the first leg 2-0 at home.

“It won’t be easy, of course, but we have to close down their spaces and we will give everything we’ve got.”
