Galliani: 'Milan target the Coppa'

Adriano Galliani said Roma are “certainly favourites” for third place, but Milan have their eyes on the Coppa Italia.

The Rossoneri visit Sassuolo in Serie A this afternoon, follow the action on our LIVEBLOG.

“Roma are doing really well at this moment and are certainly the favourites for third place, but we are catching up too,” Milan CEO Galliani told Mediaset Premium.

“We’re happy to be back in the Coppa Italia Final after 13 years and having the chance to win a trophy again after five years. My dream is to win 30 trophies in our first 30 years at Milan.”

They will face Juventus in the Final at the Stadio Olimpico on May 21.

Milan have lost both their previous trips to Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, so this is a tough test.

“We have five excellent strikers, two of whom are injured. Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez don’t have 90 minutes in their legs, so they’ll alternate.

“Eusebio Di Francesco makes his team play very well, he’s a very young Coach and one already suited to a big club. I divide Coaches between those who teach football and don’t – Di Francesco is one of the former.

“Sinisa Mihajlovic had a few issues at the start, but he is absolutely settled in.”
