Reports suggest Walter Novellino is the favourite to succeed Beppe Iachini at Palermo, ahead of Eugenio Corini and Franco Colomba.
Iachini appears set to resign as Rosanero boss as he failed to turn up to today’s training session, following a chaotic day on Tuesday when President Maurizio Zamparini called him an ‘idiot’.
Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that Novellino, who was sacked by Serie B side Modena last season, is the frontrunner for the job.
The outlet believes that Novellino’s experience and relationship with Zamparini gives him the advantage, as of all the Coaches to have worked under Zampa at Venezia and Palermo, he is the only one not to have been sacked.
Former Rosanero captain Corini is reportedly the second choice candidate, with Colomba the final solution.
