Coach Marco Giampaolo says Empoli will need 'anger' against Sampdoria, but won't hear talk of a transfer: 'These things bother me'.
The Blues host the Blucerchiati tonight at 17:00 GMT, and will be hoping to reverse a trend which saw them lose their last four matches consecutively.
“We must make this game a display of our reactive strength, our mental intensity, and our determination,” he said to the Press. “Four consecutive defeats are heavy to take. We were used to a different trend.
“The team is training in an attempt to leave behind the weight of the last few matches. They must forget about their defeats and show anger and determination. That's what we need.
“The game is delicate, but the team has to live it with intensity. We're not worried about the standings, but our morale could be better. The only way out is by winning. We must look for episodes in our favour.
“Sampdoria are a team that resembles us in terms of their characteristics. This game is different than the last few.”
Giampaolo could move away from Empoli at the end of the season, but he deflected questions on the subject.
“It bothers me that I should be linked to other teams. I don't read the papers because I don't want them to condition me.
“I'm focused on our objective. The future is built in the present.
“These stories don't affect me and don't interest me. I have to repay the club for their faith in me, only then shall we sit down and discuss my contract.”
