“My ideal as a Coach is putting the players in a position to give their best and grow as both professionals and people,” said Sousa in a Press conference.

“All of this goes in parallel with seeking a result. I want to win and I like to win, but to manage it more regularly we must improve too.

“After the defeat to Roma, we must avoid getting depressed. When expectations are created and then you don’t reach those objectives, you have to avoid it damaging the psyche.

“This is why the psychological aspect is so important in football. Frosinone are a good side and will make it very complicated for us. We must learn to strike at the right moment.

“The hunger and determination of Frosinone is something I would always like to see in my players too. They are a very aggressive side and we’ll have less space to move the ball around than we usually do.”

Tonight there is Roma-Inter, a head-to-head battle in the race for that third Champions League spot.

“As a football man I like to analyse. I want to learn from the others, but always remain concentrated on ourselves. We now have to defend our position and give our best.”

There are reports Federico Bernardeschi will be called up by Antonio Conte for friendlies against Germany and Spain, despite initially being included in the Italy Under-21 side.

“It is a great victory for Federico. All I can do is support the work that has been done by everyone from the parents to staff in the youth academy.

“I am trying to help him know the football world better. Federico is improving and I hope to always help him.”
