“I think that means his price-tag will be more accessible, even if you have to treat Sunderland with kid gloves. This is a team that earns as much money as Manchester United, so they certainly don’t have economic problems and don’t give gifts.
“They will not accept the approach of someone who suggests letting his contract expire would be a blot on the balance sheet.
“I don’t know anything about interest from Lazio. Obviously it’s an important club, among the top six or seven in Italy. Who wouldn’t want to play for Lazio?
