The former Sassuolo striker spoke to the media in a Press conference ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly in Germany.

Zaza spends a lot of time on the bench in Turin, so did he fear missing out on Euro 2016?

“I was afraid when Conte said he’d only call up those who played regularly, but that was the right thing to say. He has always motivated me without making me feel ‘safe’ of my spot.

“Naturally he’d like all his players to be first choices at their clubs, but Juventus have some excellent forwards and it’s only natural there is going to be more competition.

“The club stopped my sale in January and I didn’t want to leave either. It would’ve been a defeat. Obviously I hope to play more often, as nobody likes being on the bench.

“Right now I am with the Bianconeri and before going elsewhere I’d like to become a great player.”
