Reports say Cristian Brocchi must finish sixth to secure the Milan job, while Silvio Berlusconi went against Adriano Galliani’s advice by appointing him.
The former Rossoneri midfielder was promoted from the Primavera bench on Tuesday after Sinisa Mihajlovic was sacked.
Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that Berlusconi went against everyone in making this decision, including Vice-President Galliani, who did everything to convince him to keep Miha until the end of the season.
The decision has also upset the players who were behind the Serbian as well as the fans, who weren’t happy by yet another coaching change.
The newspaper says that Brocchi now has six Serie A games and the Coppa Italia final to convince everyone that he should continue into next season as the club’s tactician.
He was only handed a short-term deal and the report says he must at least secure a sixth-place league finish and therefore take the club back into Europe for the first time in two years.
