The striker was hit with a four-games suspension for his reaction to being sent-off in the defeat to Udinese two weeks ago.

The Partenopei appealed the decision, and are hoping to have the ban halved, leaving Higuain available to face Roma and Bologna.

Today the Argentine presented his defence in person at the Appeals Court, accompanied by club President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“We have some positive sensations,” the Vesuviani’s lawyer Mattia Grassani said as he left the court.

“Now we wait for the verdict.”

According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the judgement will be announced between 5pm and 6pm GMT.
