Ausilio: 'Icardi and Mancini stay'

Piero Ausilio assured Mauro Icardi and Roberto Mancini “will be an important part of Inter over the next few years.”

“We must focus only on ourselves, win every game, keep those behind us far away and get closer – if we can – to those ahead of us in the table,” the Inter director told Mediaset Premium.

This week hitman Icardi made a statement about his love for Inter by buying a new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder in blue and black.

“Icardi and Mancini will be an important part of Inter over the next few years. Between all the colours Mauro could’ve chosen for his new car, he picked the best – blue and black.

“I cannot comment on a possible return of Massimo Moratti. These are club issues that are not part of my remit.”

Mancini said he will shake Maurizio Sarri’s hand tonight after their ugly post-Coppa Italia touchline spat in January.

“These things ended then and there. They are two excellent Coaches and, as is only right, they will shake hands this evening.

“We had an unlucky game away to Napoli in Serie A earlier this season, as we put in a strong performance despite playing the entire second half down to 10 men.

“Now we hope for a great game and the result to go our way.”

Ausilio was asked about the many forwards Inter have been linked to for the summer transfer session.

“We have many talented strikers who are first choice in their national teams. It’s true we’ve had problems converting chances, but the quality of our forward line cannot be disputed.

“This year we changed 13 players, so it’s only natural there would be some peaks and troughs in the growth process.

“The structure of the team is already there, so we’ll only change four or five things this summer.”
