Juventus' Beppe Marotta closes to any sale of Paul Pogba, while claiming Roma's Francesco Totti needs 'clarity'.

The sporting director will have his hands full with the French midfielder this summer, as offers are expected to rain from every major club in Europe.

“We consider Pogba an important element, certainly for the next few years,” Marotta told Rai Radio 1. “We already made our decisions last year, when the offers started coming in. Pogba is happy with us. He matured and he became a champion.

“This is his habitat, even though in football you can never say never. The club doesn't plan on selling him and he hasn't asked to leave.”

The 59-year-old was also asked about former Bianconeri icon Alessandro Del Piero, which inevitably led him to a comment on the controversial Totti affair.

“Nothing but wonderful words can be said for a player like Del Piero, for what he did with Juventus and the Nazionale. His journey with us came to a close, but it all happened with great serenity.

“The club was very clear during his last season, as early as in October.

“Totti? Clarity is fundamental, and Roma have some competent directors.”

Marotta then discussed Chelsea, the club that is bound to pick up their former Coach Antonio Conte.

“There is a relationship of respect and fair play with them. Their signing of Conte makes us proud. It's something we can boast of, as we took a risk a few years ago when we handed him the reins of Juventus. I hope we'll be able to work together on the transfer market.

“The Juventus style is about living sports with loyalty. We're opposed to the culture of alibis. When you lose, you mustn't look for excuses. You look at your mistakes and you go after the next victory.

“This year, Napoli was certainly the team that frightened us the most. Aside from the recent defeats, they enjoyed an extraordinary season, especially when you consider they signed a new Coach from the province.”
