“Now we are going into a genuine relegation dogfight and it’s fundamental because a victory could finally take us to 40 points and safety,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We must go to Palermo with the right attitude, because we’ll be facing a side that will try to win by any means.

“We want to follow up our good performance against Roma, as we fought hard for that 3-3 draw and came so close to a victory.”

The game will be behind closed doors at the Stadio Barbera after Palermo’s last home game with Lazio was interrupted several times by fireworks thrown on to the pitch.

“I have been in a similar situation and I must say it’s not easy for either side, because you are playing in an entirely anomalous environment.

“That means motivation and mentality will be even more important than usual in these conditions.”

Alessandro Diamanti returns to the side after missing the Roma game, but Mauricio Pinilla joins Carlos Carmona and Davide Bassi on the treatment table.

Jasmin Kurtic and Andrea Masiello don’t make the trip due to suspension.
