“It was a good performance, we battled and soaked up pressure. We had fuel in the tank and the desire to win,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“Inter had good chances in the first half, but we did well and were also fortunate to stay in the game. After the break we took control.”

Is this an opportunity for revenge considering Inter famously fired Gasperini just a few weeks into his tenure?

“No, it is just a great victory over a big club that has strong players and were in fine form. We needed an important win for our fans in these final weeks of a tough season.

“I don’t have a problem with Inter, but obviously I’m satisfied at beating a big club.”
