Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is reportedly Lazio’s number one striker target ahead of Torino’s Ciro Immobile.
The Biancocelesti are in the market for a new front man this summer with veteran Miroslav Klose appearing set for a departure.
Corriere dello Sport reports today that Italy international Pelle is President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare’s preference in attack.
The 30-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract with Saints and with a renewal looking unlikely, Lazio could swoop.
The Aquile would like to complete a deal before Euro 2016 according to the report, in case Pelle impresses at the tournament and attracts competition for his signature.
Another reported option for the capital club is Immobile, who has a €15m buyout clause from his loan at Toro.
The Granata are believed to be trying to get a discount on his fee, while Lazio are considering entering the race.
A number of other names have also been linked with the Biancocelesti, including Genoa’s Leonardo Pavoletti, Ajax’s Arkadiusz Milik, Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini and Sunderland’s Fabio Borini.
