Catalan newspaper Sport claims Juventus are making a summer bid for Barcelona star Javier Mascherano.
The Argentine midfielder turned centre-back will be 32 in June, but is under contract until 2018 with a €100m release clause.
Nonetheless, Sport insist Juve have targeted Mascherano as the ideal replacement for injured Claudio Marchisio, who is out until at least October with an anterior cruciate ligament tear.
The report maintains Bianconeri directors have been in contact with Mascherano’s entourage for several weeks.
