Fabio Cannavaro advised Francesco Totti to be Roma President, and discussed Italian defending.
The former centre-back won the World Cup alongside the Giallorossi captain in 2006, and gave Er Pupone advice on what to do when he hangs up his boots.
“I told him to be President,” Cannavaro told Tuttomercatoweb at the official presentation for the Coppa Italia final.
“The Coppa? I’m here to represent Juventus, I won it twice with Parma too. I don’t miss playing football, I did it for years at the highest levels and now I’ve taken a different path.
“Coaching is beautiful.
“Italian defending? The issue of defence has been given little thought in the youth sectors in recent years, we’re making it different to get good players from the youth sector.
“It’s a mirror of the situation in Italy: method, players and availability.
“We weren’t just good at defending, we played football but we paid more attention to the defensive phase.”
