“We are taking on a team that needs points to secure its Serie A safety, but we are well-prepared and know what we are going into,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We must try to put in a good performance, although we couldn’t have picked a worse fixture at this moment in time.

“Over the last few days in training we’ve made it clear Carpi will be starving for points, will run hard and move the ball forward quickly without too much patient passing. We’ve had time to prepare.

“I was at Carpi for five or six months when I was a lad, it was my first experience in a professional club. We must certainly try to take the initiative and make our chances count.

“I’ve seen my team give their all in these five games and so I’m satisfied. We showed against Inter that we’ve got quality.

“I didn’t transform the side when taking over. I tried to bring my concepts of football as well as continue the work that had already been done previously.”

Keita Balde Diao and Santiago Gentiletti are suspended, while Alessandro Matri, Stefan Radu, Ricardo Kishna, Etrit Berisha and Stefan De Vrij are injured.

“Felipe Anderson will start. He is training really hard and is a player who can turn a game at any moment.”
