Coach Fabrizio Castori is 'very sorry' after Carpi missed two penalties and lost to Lazio 3-1.

The game was arguably the most chaotic of Week 37, with the Biancocelesti snatching a victory in spite of going down to nine men.

“We didn't deserve to lose, we were unlucky today,” Castori told the Press. “We created very many chances and missed two penalty shots, while they were a lot more cynical.

“We're very sorry, but at least we know we gave it our all until the last second.

“The player assigned to the penalty shoots it the way he feels he must. You can't reproach him that. Let's just accept what happened on the pitch.

“We have the duty to keep trying until the end. From January onwards we kept a pace that was worth the tenth place, so it's a shame.”
