Maurizio Sarri told Napoli “even if we have a one per cent chance of not making it, we can’t fall on that one per cent.”

The Partenopei earned a 2-1 victory away to Torino, meaning they go into the final round two points ahead of Roma in second place.

“We made an important step forward, but there is one game left and we cannot get it wrong. We need to remain concentrated,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We made an important step forward, but there is one game left and we cannot get it wrong. We need to remain concentrated,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“I hope the San Paolo is packed and gives us a hand, because it is a big objective, as it’d be only our third time in the Champions League in 18 years.”

The Partenopei’s final home match is against already-relegated Frosinone next Saturday, while Roma visit Milan.

“We’ve got a good chance of qualifying, but even if we have only a one per cent chance of not making it, we can’t fall on that one per cent. It is fundamental for us to win that game. Now that we're so close, I wouldn't forgive myself if we messed this up.

“Today we played 65 minutes at a high level and our only fault was not being more than two goals up. After Torino pulled one back some fear did set in, but ultimately we didn’t run any risks.”

Sarri was asked how he will try to reinforce the squad over the summer and if President Aurelio De Laurentiis will shell out on players.

“I have never asked for players, I always just do the best with those at my disposal. In fact, those Coaches who always request players really annoy me, because that’s easy and anyone can do that.

“If the club asks for my advice, obviously I’ll give it, but they know the type of player who suits my football.

“Many players have already made a step up in quality this season, as Kalidou Koulibaly, Allan, Jose Callejon, Marek Hamsik, Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens have been extraordinary.

“Compared to last year, perhaps the player who has improved the most is Koulibaly.”
