Italian Federation President Carlo Tavecchio touts Leicester City Coach Claudio Ranieri for the World Cup: 'It would be the highest achievement'.
The Tinkerman stunned the world of football by winning the Premier League with the Foxes, one of the minnows of the English championship.
“In the Italian list of honours, Ranieri's success is something unique,” said Tavecchio, as reported by Ansa.it.
“We won the Premier League with one of our Coaches. It means we're exporting Italian values with style, competence, effort and sense of duty.
“These are all qualities that I recognise in Ranieri, whom I wish to win a World Cup with Italy. That would be the highest achievement.
“I am talking in a general sense, not specifically about the next World Cup. Claudio is young and he'll have time.
“Did we think about him as a replacement for Antonio Conte? If anything, he's the one who must think of us.
“We have a lot of things to think about now, but in his second footballing motherland he has many victories awaiting him.”
