Udinese patron Gianpaolo Pozzo warns the club will be “recalibrated, as something didn’t work within our organisation.”

The Friulani secured their Serie A safety with a 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Sunday, thanks also to other results going their way.

“The other day it was like flipping a coin, heads or tails to be safe,” declared Pozzo in Il Messaggero Veneto newspaper.

“No, we can’t reduce ourselves to this situation again. Our campaign was unacceptable for a club that makes planning its greatest strength.

“Something didn’t work within our organisation and I am referring to the directors. Now I’ll let the season come to an end, as there is still a game to be honoured and we hope to see a great champion like Antonio Di Natale on the pitch for one last time.

“After that we will see where we are and try to recalibrate Udinese, evaluating every aspect.”

Udinese had such high hopes after unveiling their state of the art stadium, renamed the Dacia Arena.

“We reconstructed the stadium thinking about our fans, so we could meet their needs and have them closer to us. We achieved this objective and now breathe a different atmosphere during the games.

“The fans deserve applause and are our true wealth, so we mustn’t waste it. I think we need to profoundly renovate the squad, as we need fresh faces and new motivation to become Udinese again.”
