There are another three Serie A sides in the top 20, as Milan come in 12th ($825m), Inter 16th ($599m), Roma 18th ($508m) and Napoli 19th ($396m).

It is noted that Juve received $101m from the Champions League after reaching the Final, even though eventual winners Barcelona only got $69m.

This is largely down to the way TV rights are split up, as Barcelona had to share with the other Spanish clubs who progressed.

Juve were the only Italian representative to get out of the group stage and Lazio failed to get past the preliminary round.

However, the study again highlights the way Serie A sides are vastly inferior to even the smallest Premier League clubs when it comes to TV rights.

Juve are the only Italian club in the top 20 when it comes to TV earnings, getting $113m – that’s less than Swansea City, Stoke City, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albiol and Aston Villa.

It is also only $1m more than Hull City.

Juventus bring in $53m from kit and shirt deals, compared to Real Madrid’s $220m and $209m for Manchester United.
