Roma may be forced to sell one between Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic, but the offers are insufficient.

The club insistently denies that either of their star midfielders will be sold in the summer.

However, the Giallorossi's financial situation does not seem to favour their aspirations, as their objective is to fix the €41.2m deficit in their accounts.

However, the Giallorossi's financial situation does not seem to favour their aspirations, as their objective is to fix the €41.2m deficit in their accounts.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, if their plan fails to fill that hole by selling the youngsters Leandro Paredes, Antonio Sanabria and Umar Sadiq, along with a number of regulars and loanees like Iago Falque, Antonio Rudiger, Adem Ljajic and Juan Iturbe, then President James Pallotta will have to consider other solutions.

With a deadline to balance the books set at June 30, there is no time to organise other refinancing operations such as a sale of the club's stocks, akin to what Inter are attempting to do with the Suning Group.

Roma may then be forced to sell one between Pjanic and Nainggolan, either of whom could wipe out the club's debts on their own.

The trouble is that the Giallorossi have no offers coming in for Nainggolan other than Chelsea's €30m suggested deal, which is considered to be insufficient compared to the club's demand of €43m.

There are no offers yet for Pjanic, though if a club can obtain the player's consent, they can take him away for the fixed price of his buy-out clause, which is €38m.

Both players have recently stated that they wish to stay, but that their future is not entirely under their control.
