Marco Giampaolo confirmed he is leaving Empoli this summer and commented on those Milan rumours.

The Tuscans had a fine campaign and sat mid-table for most of it while playing entertaining football.

“It’s true, tomorrow is my last time on the Empoli bench,” said the Coach in his Press conference ahead of the game with Torino.

“It has been a year of great professional satisfaction, we played great football and the club showed how virtuous it is.

“This allowed me to build a rapport of respect and affection with the fans, so it was a full season in every respect.

“Why am I leaving? Let’s say it was a tacit agreement. We never discussed the contract, we reached the end of the season and this is the situation.

“I spoke to Marcello Carli and we agreed this was the best decision for everyone.

“I don’t know what I’ll do next. Milan? It’s a rumour that honours me, but it is a newspaper report and nothing else.

“Have Milan booked me for next season? If only!”
