“I spoke to President Enrico Preziosi on the phone. We spoke regularly throughout the season, which was one of highs and lows,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Will Juric replace me at Genoa? I have a strong rapport with Ivan. I don’t know where I’m going next season. My phone can’t get a signal here, maybe someone called… Did Italy call? I’ve got no signal…
“I have no particular situations lined up. It seems evident that Genoa made different choices, but for the rest there’s nothing new.”
Gasperini has above all been linked with the position at Atalanta.
“It’s a very reliable club, but in my case I need to go where I am truly wanted. I won’t be part of some managerial merry-go-round. If there’s a club that wants me as their Coach, then I’d be very happy, otherwise it is better to wait for different opportunities.”
Gasp also commented on the match-fixing allegations that involved Genoa midfielder Armando Izzo and his old club Avellino.
“I am astonished by these allegations. I know Izzo had a difficult childhood, but I don’t think he can be involved in situations like this, even with his background.
"I am certain his innocence will become clear and he is distraught over this. I hope it won’t drag on and he can give his testimony as soon as possible.”
