Francesco Totti’s Roma renewal is done, but an official announcement may have to wait until June.
It has been confirmed by the club that Er Pupone will sign a one-year extension, while Coach Luciano Spalletti says only “details” are missing.
The captain’s deal had been due to expire on June 30, and there was contention over whether he’d be offered a new playing contract.
As CalcioNews24 reports, a one-year deal as a player has been agreed, with Totti to receive a salary of €1m per year, plus bonuses linked to qualification for the Champions League group stage and League placing.
After next season, the legendary forward will take up a directorship role with the Giallorossi, ensuring that the Lupi hold on to their symbol for at least the next seven years.
However, it’s thought an official announcement may have to wait until June, as President James Pallotta is not expected in Italy before then.
