Echoing his sentiments yesterday, the transfer chief was non-commital, but did confirm a renewal for Evra.

“Dani Alves and Mascherano? I won’t confirm it and I won’t deny it,” Marotta told Il Mattino.

Echoing his sentiments yesterday, the transfer chief was non-commital, but did confirm a renewal for Evra.

“Dani Alves and Mascherano? I won’t confirm it and I won’t deny it,” Marotta told Il Mattino.

“At the moment we’re at the stage of confirming our current block. Our group is difficult to improve, and we have no intention of selling, so much so that in the next few days we’ll renew with Evra.

“We’re working. We have to keep four Italian players and four players from our youth team in the squad, a rule that penalises the spectacle.

“We’ll adapt though, the idea is to create a mix of young and experienced players. We’re not at the level of Spain and England, because abroad there’s a lot more money in their coffers to invest.”

Marotta was also asked about the situation up-front, with Alvaro Morata likely to leave and links to Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

“Keeping the Spaniard [Morata] in Turin would be a source of pride and satisfaction for us. He’s a talent who is becoming a champion.

“We’ll do the impossible to keep him, but it doesn’t depend on us because Real Madrid can exercise their buyback clause.

“If it goes badly, we’ll evaluate other options.

“Would Cavani be an alternative? He’s a great player, but he’d be very difficult to move from Paris.

“As for Domenico Berardi, we have a verbal commitment with Sassuolo, and we’ve said we want to exercise our moral priority.

“So yes, it’s possible Juve will take Berardi.”
