Berlusconi was reportedly convinced by the intentions of the Chinese consortium currently in talks to buy Milan, but he has now confessed to being in two minds as he is yet to receive the guarantee of a lasting commitment.

“I don’t know if we can reach a conclusion because they’ve still not given us an answer on their commitment lasting several years,” he told Radio Centro Suono Sport

“[On Totti], icons can’t be bought or sold. I would’ve liked to have had [Totti], but I never thought about buying him.

“I believe he’s right to indulge in his desire of another season as a player, and Roma may then keep him on as an executive.

“[On Paolo Maldini], he’s taken a direction across the Atlantic, in the US, and [him being a Milan executive] has never been proposed.”
