With the unfortunate turn in the careers of Mario Balotelli and Giuseppe Rossi as well as Coach Antonio Conte's reluctance to call up Sebastian Giovinco, it seems that the Napoli striker is the last hope for the Azzurri's creativity upfront.

“I wasn't called up myself, but I'll support them,” Quagliarella told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Obviously I know Conte very well as he was my Coach at Juve, and I'm sure he'll bring out the best in these lads he selected. That much I'm certain of.

“The attackers I'd field would be Insigne and Immobile. I'm not saying that just because they are my friends, I really think they could do well.

“Above all, I would not play without Lorenzo and his creativity.”

Finally, Quagliarella discussed his Sampdoria Coach, Vincenzo Montella, who struggled in his first season with the Blucerchiati.

“I have an excellent relationship with him, and with Antonio Cassano too, because he always knows where to put the ball.”
