Yaya Toure is turning down all other options and ready to take a pay cut in order to play for Inter, claim Italian reports.

The Manchester City midfielder has just one year left on his contract, but rejected huge pay day moves to China, the USA and UAE.

According to both SportItalia and the Corriere dello Sport, Toure has his heart set on joining Roberto Mancini at San Siro.

He’d be prepared to slash his wages to €5m per year plus bonuses and push to depart Manchester City for a minimal fee.

The Ivory Coast international is expected to be the first signing of the new club, as Suning Commerce Group will announce it has bought 68.5 per cent of the stock in a Press conference on Monday.

“I denied the story about him having a medical with us, because it wasn’t true. Toure is a player who doesn’t need introductions, he is admired by Mancini and all those who love football,” said Inter director Piero Ausilio on Saturday.

“Going from that to saying there’s a good chance of pushing forward this move is a big leap. It is a difficult operation, because Yaya is under contract with Manchester City, one of the richest clubs in the world.

“He can’t just free himself from the contract in simple conditions and the cost of his contract is also a problem. Basically, the operation is not easy.”
