The German international has one-year remaining on his contract with the Viola, having spent last season on loan at Besiktas.
Gomez hit 26 goals in 33 League games for the Turkish side, but managed just seven Serie A goals in his two seasons in Florence.
“After the Euros we’ll decide where Mario will play,” Uli Ferber explained to Bild.

“Until then my job is to talk with Fiorentina and sporting director [Pantaleo] Corvino in order to find a solution.
“The player is just thinking about France 2016 at the moment.”
