‘Suning will invest in Inter’

Suning Group vice-President Sun Weimin confirms “we’ll definitely invest in Inter” to take them to “the next level”.

The Chinese conglomerate has acquired close to 70 per cent of shares in the Nerazzurri from Massimo Moratti and Erick Thohir.

“We’re a family, and it’s a huge honour for Suning to buy Inter,” Sun told Inter Channel.

“It’s a very talented European team with over 100 years of history. I’d like to reiterate my gratitude to President Thohir and Mr Moratti for the confidence they’ve shown in us.

“This is a great responsibility for us: how to take a team with over 100 years of history to the next level and take it forward to glory?

“It’s a great challenge and we think we can do it, with constant investment of capital on the part of Suning, the support of the Chinese fans and the great managerial ability at Inter.

“We’re confident that we’ll take Inter to the next level. Now Inter is part of the Suning family, and we’ll treat it as such: like a brother.

“Just as the Inter motto says ‘brothers of the world’. We’ll definitely invest in Inter, we’ll give them as many resources as possible to take them to the top or to an even higher level than before.

“We want to make the fans love their team even more, make things even better. Forza Inter!”
