“I am glad to have given my contribution to the team. We played well and qualified, so of course I am happy. Giorgio Chiellini was even able to provide an assist with his hands!

“The Coach will make his choices, he knows what all the strikers can give. I hope we will play many more matches and therefore everyone will get their chance.

“It wasn’t a beautiful game today, but the objective was to win. We picked up the three points we needed to qualify and we are satisfied with that, even if the performance wasn’t of the highest level.

“We were a little shaken at first, as Sweden came flying out of the blocks with such intensity and are a very physical side.”
