Italy have an extremely difficult route to the Euro 2016 Final, facing Spain on Monday, then possibly Germany and France.

The Azzurri won Group E with two victories, regardless of tomorrow’s result against the Republic of Ireland.

However, the draw has still given them the toughest possible route to the Final.

Spain lost 2-1 to Croatia this evening, with goals from Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic and Inter winger Ivan Perisic.

As a result, Croatia top the group and Italy will face runners-up Spain in Paris on June 27 at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

That replay of the Euro 2012 Final is not the end of it, as if Antonio Conte’s men do progress, they’ll have a very tough run.

Germany are theoretically their quarter-final opponents, then hosts France in the semi-final.

Ironically, if Italy had finished second in their group rather than top, they’d be taking on Hungary, Iceland or Portugal.

Meanwhile, Monday will see Alvaro Morata up against the Juventus defence, having today been told he is returning to Real Madrid.
