Sassuolo and Croatia full-back Sime Vrsaljko has officially signed a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid.
The deal had been done some time ago, but was only completed today due to his Euro 2016 commitments.
Although the financial details were not confirmed, it’s believed the transfer cost €16m plus another €2m in bonuses.
The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a deal until June 2021.
“Playing at Atletico is a great challenge for me. I am very happy,” said the player.
“Vrsaljko is a player with huge potential, but has already proved his quality in such a competitive League as Serie A,” director of sport Jose Luis Caminero told the club website.
“He is very versatile, as he can work on both flanks, which offers interesting alternatives.”
