Roma centre-back Leandro Castan is taking a medical ahead of his move to Sampdoria.

As reported yesterday, the Brazilian defender is very close to agreeing a move to the Blucerchiati, though it’s not clear if it’s an outright transfer or a loan.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website carries a picture of Castan arriving for his medical in Rome, with the player offering no comment on how close a transfer is.

Assuming he passes the medical, the 29-year-old will then head to Genoa to officially complete his move to Samp.

Castan had brain surgery in December of 2014, which has understandably affected his performances, and he made just four Serie A starts last season.
