Inter draw first friendly 0-0

Inter drew 0-0 with Austrian side WSG Wattens in their first pre-season friendly, as Andrea Ranocchia hit the crossbar.

Roberto Mancini set his side out initially in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Mauro Icardi leading the line and new buy Cristian Ansaldi at right-back.

Icardi wasted a good chance in the first half, sent through by a Stevan Jovetic back-heel flick, as he tried to dribble round the goalkeeper and was denied.

Austrians WSG Wattens had scoring opportunities too, forcing Samir Handanovic into a tricky save along with Kekez drilling just wide.

After the break Inter moved to a 4-4-2 system and Rodrigo Palacio went close with a rapid counter, but on 69 minutes Dodo’s horrible defensive error allowed Krismer to go clear on goal and somehow lob over the bar with only Juan Pablo Carrizo to beat.

Centre-back Ranocchia had Inter’s best chance, his header from a corner fingertipped on to the crossbar.
