Lazio have reportedly ‘booked’ Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin, as they cannot sign him until Antonio Candreva is sold.

Today Aquile director of sport Igli Tare confirmed in a Press conference that even though Marcelo Bielsa had walked away, they were continuing to work on some transfer targets.

These are believed to be Enner Valencia and Rodrigo Caio.

Tare refused to name the third player, but did state he was the ‘replacement’ for Candreva.

According to Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the player in question is Thauvin, who has been told to wait for Candreva’s departure to be made official.

He spent this season on loan at Olympique Marseille and could be offered a permanent deal there.

Wanted by Chelsea and Inter, Candreva is currently discussing personal terms with Napoli for a €28m move.
