Roma defender Leandro Castan has officially joined Sampdoria on loan.
The centre-back had already been training with his new teammates and Coach Marco Giampaolo.
A statement made the move official this evening – a dry loan with no option to buy.
The loan costs Samp €0.5m, rising to €0.75m depending on bonuses.
It’s a chance for Castan to play regularly after missing the entire 2014-15 season due to delicate brain surgery.

It’s a chance for Castan to play regularly after missing the entire 2014-15 season due to delicate brain surgery.
He had an operation to remove a cavernoma – cluster of irregular blood vessels – in the brain, which was causing him to feel permanently sea-sick.
Although he returned for the 2015-16 campaign, Castan only made six appearances in all competition.
