Kostas Manolas “has not agreed a contract renewal with Roma and I doubt we will,” revealed his agent.

The centre-back was a firm transfer target for Chelsea and Arsenal in recent months.

While he was definitely off the market at the time, the situation could well change.

“It’s true, I can confirm we have not agreed a contract renewal with Roma,” agent Iannis Evangelopoulos told laroma24.it.

“Could he reach it over the next few weeks? I doubt we will.”

The 25-year-old’s current deal with Roma runs to June 2019, so it is not a matter of particular urgency.

A January transfer might be more likely, as there are reports his contract includes a clause owing Olympiacos extra money if he is sold before September 1 2016.

His price-tag is in the region of €30m.
