Reports suggest Gonzalo Higuain may not join Napoli in Dimaro on July 25 as planned.
The Argentinian striker is being heavily linked with a move away from the Partenopei, but club President Aurelio De Laurentiis expects him at the pre-season training camp.
According to calciomercato.com, while Higuain is not on strike as with Amadou Diawara at Bologna, he is not keen to turn up to the training camp.
Pipita arriving in Dimaro would cause a media circus, so he may ask permission to join the team in Naples in August, providing a medical certificate.
However, the website doesn’t rule out a secret meeting with De Laurentiis as happened last year, when the pair met in Venice to discuss a contract renewal which ultimately never arrived.
Higuain’s release clause is €94m, and the Vesuviani have made it clear they won’t offer any discounts.
