It is reported that Mario Gomez has requested that he be allowed to decide his future, irrespective of what Fiorentina want.
The German forward spent last season on loan at Turkish club Besiktas, where his goals helped fire them to the League title.
However, he is still not part of the Viola’s future plans and Gazzetta dello Sport say that the 31-year-old wishes to decide his next destination alone.
The Italian sports daily also states that Gomez has asked the Florence club’s permission to miss their upcoming pre-season training camp in Austria.
Borussia Dortmund are rumoured to have made a €7m bid for the player, who is also said to be wanted by Wolfsburg and West Ham United.
