“Gonzalo left Napoli because his relationship with the President had broken down,” Jorge Higuain told El Exprimidor.

“He didn’t do anything bad, because in the contract there was the possibility of joining another team.”

Higuain Senior also expressed his hope that the Napoli fans will remember his son’s contribution to their club.

“When he goes back to San Paolo he will have to live with the insults and boos, something that happens in football.

“I hope it doesn’t happen, because he was the leader of the team and got Napoli back in the Champions League.”
