West Ham United are reportedly interested in Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez, after missing out on Carlos Bacca.
The Hammers agreed terms with the Rossoneri for Bacca, but were unable to convince the Colombian to make the move to the Premier League.
Now Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that the English side have made contact with Fiorentina for Mario Gomez as an alternative.
The German international spent last season on loan at Besiktas, but that deal will not be made permanent.
Gomez is surplus to requirements for the Viola, and they would be keen to get him off the wage bill with a year still to run on his contract, which is worth around €4.2m per season.
The 31-year-old scored 26 times for Besiktas last season, and twice at Euro 2016 with Germany, but couldn’t find consistent form in Serie A.
