Napoli are considering a €40m offer for Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic, according to reports.

The Partenopei are in need of a new striker, but have plenty of funds available to secure one after Gonzalo Higuain went to Juventus for €90m.

According to La Nazione, President Aurelio De Laurentiis has spokenw with his Viola counterpart Andrea Della Valle about a possible deal for Kalinic.

The Croatian international scored 12 Serie A goals for the Viola last season, including nine goals in eight matches between the end of September and the start of November.

It’s thought that Fiorentina don’t want to immediately reveal their asking price, as they’re aware that Napoli have plenty of money available.

However, the Neapolitans are considering a testing the Viola’s resolve with a €40m bid.
